If you read this week’s feature on Mark Wahlberg, then you know that he and David O. Russell have been simpatico for more than a decade, making several feature films together. So it is a little surprising to see Bradley Cooper in a role that one would think would have been Wahlberg’s. The Silver Linings Playbook, based on the novel by Matthew Quick, stars Cooper as a man who has just been released from a four-year stay in a mental institution who moves back in with his mother and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife.
In addition to Cooper, the film stars Hunger Games‘ Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro and making his return to film after a five year absence, Chris Tucker (his last movie was 2007’s Rush Hour 3).
The Weinstein Company will begin releasing Playbook into theaters on November 21st.
