10 Thoughts on WWE Friday Night ZackDown! – 7.13.12 – ZackDown, Big Show, Damien Sandow, Dolph and Cody, Tag Team Intrigue?

Welcome to my 10 Thoughts on WWE Friday Night ZackDown!  Our Guest General Manager for the evening is Zack Ryder as he won the battle royal last week to earn this right.  Let’s get started…

1.  Alberto del Rio defeats Sin Cara in the opening match in order to show how focused he is for the PPV this Sunday.  With that being said, I don’t see del Rio winning this Sunday nor do I see Sin Cara carrying around a briefcase.

2.  So Primo defeats Darren Young in a match befitting of Superstars.  It seems like they’re pushing these teams more than they are the actual tag team champs.  Maybe we’ll have these two teams going at it in an additional match on the PPV.  It would be strange to see considering the champs are fighting in the pre-show against Hunico and Camacho.

3.  Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes seemed to work well as a unit and could make a credible tag team.  Especially considering both of these men will one day be stars most likely.  In fact, I consider them to be the most likely to win Sunday with only Lord Tensai as another real possible winner.

4.  Wow they actually wasted an entire ten minutes showing the mixed tag match and the pre and post conversations between AJ, Punk, and Bryan.  They usually recap events from Raw, but not usually to that extent.  I guess it’s excusable since they recorded both Raw and SmackDown in Denver on the same night.

5.  Big Show knockouts Khali to a short clean win.  Eh, it gives Khali something to do and it keeps Big Show’s momentum going into the PPV this Sunday.

6.  Tyler Reks put up more of a fight than any of his opponents have, but he just couldn’t put away Ryback as the streak continues.  Feed him more.

7.  Sandow Love of the Week:  His signature twisting elbow drop is called the Kobito Akiat which is Latin for ‘Elbow of Disdain.’  Who doesn’t love an arrogant name for his move that most people won’t be able to remember or pronounce in a language not many know?

8.  Oh hey Justin Gabriel!  Nice of you to join the party on ZackDown.  I guess he’s been residing on Superstars of NXT eh?

9.  A pretty decent match between Sheamus and Chris Jericho with Jericho dominating the match until the very end where Sheamus hit a lucky Brogue Kick for the one-two-three.

10.  Overall this show was definitely a filler show as there weren’t a lot of matches and the ones that were there just had no real storyline progression.  This Sunday should be an alright PPV.  Be sure to check in here for the latest on the show results!  Have to get that plug in.
