If you caught the opening ceremony to the Summer Olympics, you may have seen Agent 007 and the Queen (well, maybe their stunt doubles) parachute into the stadium. Not a bad way for Eon Productions to kickstart the advertising push for its latest James Bond feature, Skyfall. It’s Daniel Craig’s third time playing the famed Agent 007. This time he’ll be under the direction of Academy Award-winning director Sam Mendes (American BeautyRoad to Perdition). Judi Dench returns at M, but new additions include a villainous Javier Bardem, plus Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw as Q.

Again, Skyfall will be quite the departure for Sam Mendes whose last feature was 2009’s Away We Go, a low-key dramedy starring John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph. He’ll be working from a script written by regular Bond collaborators Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, plus John Logan, probably one of the most prominent writers in Hollywood having drafted strong screenplays be they original ideas or adaptations for Gladiator, The Last Samurai, Rango, and most recently Martin Scorsese’s Hugo

Columbia Pictures, Eon Productions and MGM have Skyfall set to hit US theaters this November 9th.
