Today marks the one year anniversary of the greatest loss of spec ops in American history when a Chinook helicopter transporting 30 Navy SEALs of SEAL Team 6 and one military dog was shot down over Afghanistan. Through shear happenstance, Columbia Pictures has debuted the first teaser trailer and poster for the December release of Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty, a film about the special operations forces mission to capture or kill Osama bin Laden. You may recall that it was members of the SEAL Team 6 that ultimately found him and killed him in 2011.
Bigelow has assembled a high-caliber ensemble with the likes of Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton, Mark Strong, Chris Pratt, Jason Clarke, Kyle Chandler and Édgar Ramírez.
Zero Dark Thirty opens in theaters on December 19, 2012.
