Michael Jackson Promoter No Longer Wants The Insurance Money

News

AEG Live, who were to promote Michael Jackson’s aborted 2009 tour, have decided not to file their 17.5 million dollar insurance claim after all.  Recent e-mails came to light showing that AEG probably knew well in advance that Jackson wasn’t going to be healthy enough to perform, which pretty much invalidated their case.  Lloyd’s of London, who issued the policy, had been fighting AEG in court over the payout, although the promoter claims that Jackson’s estate covered the losses and it had nothing to do with the leaked e-mails.  And if you can’t trust a music promoter, who can you trust?
