NYCC 2012: Donna Troy Primed For DC New 52 Debut?! Earth 2 or Teen Titans? Wally West Next? UPDATED (DC Comics)

News

At Saturday’s DC Comics – The New 52 Panel, at the New York Comic Con (NYCC 2012), editor Bobbie Chase teased about the future of James Robinson and artist Nicola Scott’s Earth 2.

She conveyed the following according to our friends at Newsarama:

Steppenwolf and “the last Amazon of Earth” will feature in an upcoming issue.

DC Comics own coverage of the panel was less revealing. It indicated the following:

Up next, Earth 2. Bobbie Chase talks about two important people in the next issue. She doesn’t want to say too much, so pick it up and see for yourself!

Ok, so, the next issue of Earth 2 is issue #6. Its solicit reads:

• The Green vs. The Grey! Who will decide the fate of this dying Earth: Green Lantern or Grundy?
• Will the new wonders of Earth band together to form the first super team since the death of the Trinity?
• Does super-genius Sloan really know what’s best for this world?

Could that “last Amazon” be Donna Troy? That would seem like a nice fit in a DC Comics Universe where its “main Earth” never had a Teen Titans that had Dick Grayson as Robin, Wally West as Kid Flash, Garth as Aqualad, Roy Harper as Speedy and Donna Troy as Wonder Girl as its founding team members.

Also, it does seem like the Flash writers/artists of Brian Buccellato and Francis Manapul may have plans for a man named “West” though on the New 52’s main Earth. :)

UPDATED:

It appears that writer James Robinson has confirmed that the identity of Earth 2’s last amazon is Fury. She appears on the cover of Earth 2 #8. We don’t know yet the alias of Fury on Earth 2 though. Will it be Helena Kosmatos or Hippolyta Trevor-Hall or perhaps Donna Troy? The latter may just be wishful thinking on my part. :( The various folks who assumed the Fury identity pre-New 52 can be found here. Thanks for reading. All feedback welcome.
