Peter Parker is dead! Spoilers! Nah, just kidding, anyone not buried under a rock in a zone with no 3G already knows this by now, and if you somehow are that 3Gless person under the rock….too bad. Otto Octavius has taken up residence in the body of Peter Parker, and with his unparalleled intellect he is going to be the SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN! Because, you know, ruthless and brilliant with no shame makes him better than Pete.
Pete who is dead, by the way, he was in Otto’s body when it kicked the bucket. That’s the twist of Amazing 700.
This issue….that isn’t the twist. That’s the status quo. Otto is in Pete’s body and doing some pretty awesome things as Spider-Man, but he’s also doing some pretty hot awesome things.
Like almost letting this cop die because he didn’t feel like fighting the bad guys. Sure, he returned to the scene, but he had no idea why.
Just like he didn’t know why he quit beating Boomerang to death. He wanted to kill the pissant, and he was one punch from finishing the job…..when something stops him.
An ethereal hand stops him, and Otto has no idea what it is. He’s completely unaware that Peter Parker is stil there, in his mind, and trying to find his way back to control.
