Daredevil Spoilers: What Real World Threat Looms In Matt Murdock’s World?

Spoilers

During Mark Waid’s tenture on Daredevil we’ve seen a complete and total change of tone from the years preceding him, a very lighthearted and super-heroic book instead of a dark mass of grimy noir and comic book grimdark. We’ve seen Matt captured by Klaw, driven mad by Coyote, kidnapped and tortured by Doom, and he even teamed up with Spider-Man and the Punisher to stop megacrime.

It’s been a fun book, not a lot of series bad stuff, nothing you didn’t feel would be resolved in an issue or two. Well, that’s about to change, as Mark Waid has decided it is time to bring the serious to the book in a very true to life way.

As things have gotten crazier for Matt, his best friend Foggy pushed him away. Kicked him out of the law firm, told the DA he was Daredevil, completely gave up on him because he thought Matt lost his mind. However, Matt didn’t, and Foggy bought into the lines being fed him hook, line, and sinker. The pair gave up on their friendship due to the lack of trust.

Matt fixed that in the newest issue, bringing Foggy a peace offering to get his best friend back, only to quickly discover Foggy is holding something back.

Foggy Nelson might have cancer, and if he does, then that’s going to be the most dangerous threat Matt has ever come across. A potential killer that has his best friend in its grip, and there’s nothing that Daredevil can do about it.
