Melissa Segura of Sports Illustrated is reporting that UFC 157’s main card has its first big injury to shuffle it out. Per her Twitter feed:
“Hearing Manny Gamburyan, scheduled to fight Chad Mendes at UFC157 broke his thumb yesterday and fractured his elbow. He’s apparently out.”
Nothing official from either Gamburyan, his representatives or Zuffa has been reported as of yet.
Kubryk’s Analysis: If Gamburyan is hurt it’ll mark the second straight event where Mendez will have lost his opponent. Hacran Dias pulled out days before, giving Mendes a talented but over-matched Yaotzin Meza to feed on.
