Hipster Tito Ortiz To UFC: Let My Cyborg Go! Former Champ Asks For Release Of Cris “Cyborg” Santos Instead of Rousey Fight
by Scott "Kubryk" Sawitz on February 9, 2013

Tito Ortiz, who has transitioned from MMA Fighter to MMA Manager fairly successfully, dropped a bombshell on “Inside MMA” last night. Cris “Cyborg” Santos, one of his clients, has asked for her release from the UFC due to the inability of the organization to compromise on a weight class for a planned fight against Ronda Rousey. After some shots were fired a while ago, Ortiz sent some more right back at them.

Kubryk’s Analysis: This is more gamesmanship. Rousey wants Cyborg cutting as much weight as possible for a fight and Cyborg wants to cut as little as possible. It’ll be the same scenario if/when Anderson Silva vs. GSP happens. There’s too much money in that fight for both sides to just walk away from it.
