Kubryk’s Analysis: I tend to agree with Will in that it’s gamesmanship, nothing more, and the longer Cyborg stays away from the UFC and Rousey the bigger the fight will be. The key will be for Rousey (and Cyborg) to keep winning and make it feel bigger. If Rousey has a number of high profile wins, and Cyborg adds to her highlight reel of knockouts, it feels like a bigger fight. We’re staring down the barrel of a Manny Pacquiao/Floyd Mayweather scenario but to a significantly smaller degree.
If Cyborg wins expect her to call out Rousey, and vice versa next weekend, as the two are going to engage in a battle of words until someone relents and signs the deal.
