Glover Teixeira vs. Ryan Bader set for UFC 160

News

The traditional Memorial Day Weekend event in Las Vegas for the UFC is quickly beginning to fill up with another big fight announced on Tuesday evening as top ten light heavyweights Glover Teixeira (20-2, 3-0 UFC) and Ryan Bader (15-3, 8-3 UFC) will meet in a pivotal match-up on the May 25 card. The fight is expected to serve as part of the night’s main card.

Teixeira is unbeaten in the UFC and has won 18 straight fights overall. He was last seen at UFC On FOX 5 last month where he took a unanimous decision over Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson. That was just the third decision win for Teixeira as the other 17 have come by stoppage. He also holds wins over Kyle Kingsbury and Fabio Maldonado inside the octagon.

Bader got back on the winning track at that same UFC event last month as he scored a quick submission win over Vladimir Matyushenko. It took Bader just 50 seconds to earn a ‘Submission Of The Night’, and he improved to 3-1 over his last four fights. The TUF 8 winner also holds wins over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Keith Jardine, Vinny Magalhaes and the aforementioned Jackson in the UFC.

UFC 160 goes down from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 25 on pay-per-view, with prelims on FX and Facebook. Cain Velasquez defends the UFC Heavyweight Championship against Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva, plus Junior Dos Santos takes on Alistair Overeem.
