Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced that the recent Steven Soderbergh thriller Side Effects will be arriving to home video as a Blu-ray Combo Pack on May 21st. (Pre-order it today.)
Starring Rooney Mara, Channing Tatum, Jude Law and Catherine Zeta-Jones, and written by Contagion scribe Scott Z. Burns, Steven Soderbergh’s penultimate film is a sexy psychological thriller that recalls the works of Adrian Lyne (Fatal Attraction, Unfaithful).
After her husband (Tatum) is released from prison for insider trading, Emily (Mara) begins suffering from terrifying anxiety and turns to psychiatrist Dr. Banks (Law) for help. But when Banks prescribes an experimental drug for her, the side effects have chilling and deadly consequences.
On Blu-ray, the film will be presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack. In terms of extras, both the Blu-ray and DVD will include two fake commercials for the fictional drugs portrayed in the film (“Ablixa” and “Intenin”) and two featurettes (“Aliza Website Experience” and “Behind-the-Scenes of Side Effects).
