Rodrigo Damm vs. Mizuto Hirota heads to UFC On FUEL TV 10

News

A featherweight bout featuring two fighters likely fighting for their position on the UFC roster will take place at UFC On FUEL TV 10 in June as Rodrigo Damm (10-6, 1-1 UFC) will take on Mizuto Hirota (14-6-1, 0-1 UFC) at the Brazil event, which will also serve as the finale for “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2”.

Tatame.com first reported the news.

Damm has won just two of his past seven professional bouts and finds himself in need of a win to likely keep a spot in the crowded UFC featherweight division. Damm was a contestant on the inaugural season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil” but exited the show after the quarterfinals due to not being cleared by the doctors. He debuted at UFC 147, scoring a submission win over Anistavio Gasparzhino, but fell back into the loss column at UFC 154 when he dropped a split decision to Antonio Carvalho.

Hirota is also looking to get back on the winning track after dropping his previous two bouts. He lost his lone Strikeforce fight to Pat Healy last September, and followed that with a decision loss to Rani Yahya at UFC On FUEL TV 8 earlier this month in Japan in his UFC debut.

UFC On FUEL TV 10 will take place on June 8 from Fortaleza, Brazil. The main card airs on FUEL TV following prelims on Facebook. A battle between the coaches of “TUF: Brazil 2” headlines the event as Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira meets Fabricio Werdum in a five-round bout.

The current UFC On FUEL TV 10 card includes:

  • Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Fabricio Werdum
  • TUF: Brazil 2 Finals
  • Erick Silva vs. John Hathaway
  • Thiago Silva vs. Rafael Cavalcante
  • Ildemar Alcantara vs. Jason High
  • Derek Brunson vs. Ronny Markes
  • Rony Jason Mariano vs. Mike Wilkinson
  • Karlos Vemola vs. Caio Magalhaes
  • Daniel Sarafian vs. Eddie Mendez
  • Godofredo Pepey vs. Felipe Arantes
  • Rodrigo Damm vs. Mizuto Hirota
