A fight has been announced for the UFC on Fox Sports 1 debut card, to be held in Boston, as Matt Brown vs. Thiago Alves has been verbally agreed to. MMA Fighting is confirming this with the caveat that the two have yet to sign contractual agreements.
Brown is on a four fight win streak, most recently finishing Jordan Mein at UFC on Fox: Henderson vs. Melendez. He made his debut in the UFC following a run on the seventh season of “The Ultimate Fighter.”
Alves hasn’t fought since March of 2012 after losing in the final moments against Martin Kampmann via rear naked choke, a fight he was winning fairly handedly at the moment.
