There is no question that I was tough on The Sheyld over the course of Big Brother Canada. I felt like both Peter Brown and Alec Beall were pretenders and mere shells of the great U.S. players that they so desperately wanted to be. In fact, I believe it was their love of Dan Gheesling and Will Kirby that adversely impacted their respective games as their desire to live up to standards set by the players south of the border stopped them from adapting to the players that they were actually playing with. While I hammered both Peter and Alec in their post-eviction episodes, I couldn’t wait to talk to them in-person and get more of the rationale behind their respective strategies. A particularly poignant moment was when Alec described his admiration for Will and I made the realization that there was really no difference between him and Will and myself and Boston Rob from Survivor. So, yes, perhaps I was tough on The Sheyld, but can you blame me? They were solely responsible for AJ’s exit which ultimately is what led to their demise.
I caught up with Peter and Alec right after the finale ended for an interview in the Big Brother Canada house backyard.
