Breaking News – Two Weeks Notice? No Problem For Chael Sonnen as He Steps In To Face Shogun Rua at UFC 161
by Scott "Kubryk" Sawitz on June 3, 2013

With no official announcement from the UFC so far, Shogun Rua apparently has a new opponent for UFC 161. Chael Sonnen, who had lobbied for the fight on Twitter, is stepping in on two weeks notice for the fight.

Sonnen would be replacing Antonio “Lil Nog” Nogueira, Rua’s original opponent. Sonnen is coming off two consecutive losses, one to Anderson Silva for the Middleweight title and another to Jon Jones for the light heavyweight title. Those are his only two losses since May 2009.

Rua is coming off a loss as well, this one to Alexander Gustafsson in December 2012.
