The young girl we met earlier in Green Arrow #19 named Emiko who looked an awful lot like a younger version of the old school DC Comics’ Shado, is revealed to be “a” Shado of sorts by her mother!

In the old DC, Shado – the woman – was Oliver Queen’s love interest not his father’s. There was no baby girl Shado in the past. This is certainly an expected turn using a familiar character.

Under the new creative team, Green Arrow fulfills the promise of the New 52: new characters mixed in with classic characters with new twists.

While much of the hype for this issue was the debut of the new Count Vertigo, the Two Shados just made the ongoing subplots a whole lot more intriguing.
