Sports clothing giant Adidas will be expanding into the world of mixed martial arts.

Executives from Adidas global licensee Double D confirmed that Adidas Combat Sports has penned a multi-year partnership with Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA), a fledgling fight promotion that prides itself as a breeding ground for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

RFA President Ed Soares said, “RFA is honored to have an exclusive multi-year deal with Double-D/Adidas Combat Sports, “I have always loved Adidas and seeing their three stripes in the RFA cage is going to be one of my proudest moments. I would like to thank everyone at Double-D/Adidas Combat Sports for their belief in RFA, our RFA fighters and the sport of Mixed Martial Arts.”

Christophe Dessalles, Managing Director, Double-D/Adidas Global Licensee for all Combat Sports said, “Adidas Combat Sports and RFA are excellent partners and a perfect match because we share the same commitment and philosophy of supporting aspiring champions in their journey. We also share and focus on strong ethos, such as ethics, hard work and passion. We are pleased to be partners with RFA and look forward to working with Ed Soares and his team for many years to come.”

Adidas Combat Sports will be displayed on the RFA Octagon, August 16, where the MMA promotion makes its Los Angeles debut, as Jeff Curran (36-15-1) faces Pedro Munhoz (8-0) to crown its inaugural bantamweight champion, plus TUF graduate Kevin Casey (5-3) takes on Casey Ryan (5-0).

Sports fans will see the iconic three stripes on the RFA cage, competition mat, cage fencing and bumpers, as well as RFA promotional signage, graphics and digital platforms. Furthermore, all RFA fighters will compete wearing Adidas Mixed Martial Arts gloves, as the company is also set to launch a line of MMA products later this year.
