Disc News: Vincent Price Scares Blu-ray

Vincent Price joined the icons of horror in the ’60s thanks to Roger Corman and Edgar Allen Poe. Price had already had a long career when he joined Corman for Fall of the House of Usher, American International Pictures first color production. The film quickly became a smash and AIP did what it did best: turn trio into a genre. The Price-Corman-Poe films became classy scares at drive-in theaters around the country. Some of the best of that period along with a few other films Vincent Price made for AIP are coming out in high definition in The Vincent Price Collection due out on October 22. These six films have Vincent at his spookiest including the charmingly deranged The Abominable Dr. Phibes. The folks at Scream Factory have uncovered a ghoulish batch of bonus features including Vincent Price talking about the various films.
