BREAKING NEWS – Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva Named as TUF: Brazil 3 Coaches

News, Top Story

Dana White announced on Fox Sports Live (on Fox Sports 1) some fairly substantial news. Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva, who’ve had a colorful disagreement with one another in recent months, have been tabbed as coaches for the next season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil.”

Sonnen becomes the first American to coach an Ultimate Fighter international season as this will mark his second stint on the show overall. He coached against Jon Jones on Season 17.

He’s currently scheduled to face off against Rashad Evans at UFC 167 in the co-main event slot. Sonnen is currently on a one fight winning streak, having beaten Shogun Rua via submission at the first UFC Fight Night event to be held on Fox Sports 1.

Wanderlei Silva is also coaching his second season of the show. He coached the inaugural season of TUF: Brazil against Vitor Belfort.

Silva most recently defeated Brian Stann via knockout on UFC on Fuel TV: (Stann vs. Silva) in Japan.

Both men will fight after the show is over, of course, but no location has been announced for the fight itself.
