Superman #25 marks Part 4, the finale, of the four-part Krypton Returns mini-event across the Superman Family titles. It started in Action Comics Annual #2 (spoilers here), with Part 2 in Superboy #25 (spoilers here) and Part 3 in last week’s Supergirl #25 (spoilers here).

Superman #25 opens with a recap of how we got “here”.
After that the book continues with Superboy successfully foiling the villain H’el in his past with a pre-Supergirl Kara Zor-el on Krypton.
Then we move onto another past this time with Supergirl foiling H’el.
What follows is Superman in another past of Krypton alongside his father Jor-el tangling with H’el.
Superman disagrees with his father’s more severe way of dealing with He’l. Supes find a convoluted super-science temporal loop to “imprison” H’el.
This leads to Superman and Supergirl meeting up to return to the “present day” DC New 52.
Superboy isn’t with Superman and Supergirl because he seemingly sacrificed himself to lift Argo City from Krypton before its explosion enabling Kara Zor-el to survive and become Supergirl.
However, is this the end of Krypton? Superman #25’s cliffhanger may tease more to come on that score?
