Josh Mathews, Hall of Famer Mick Foley, Hall of Famer Booker T, and The Miz are on the Kickoff panel. Renee Young is in the Social Media Lounge. Use the hashtag #WWETLC to join the conversation.

After a promo by The Shield, Kofi Kingston came up to the Kickoff area and slapped Miz right across the face! Foley and Booker broke them up. Kingston is showing more fire than he has in perhaps ever.

kickoff

Ziggler had Fandango up on the top rope but got distracted by Summer Rae. Fandango knocked Ziggler back and hit the Guillotine Legdrop to pick up the victory.

WINNER – Fandango

Backstage, a limo pulls up and Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and Mr. McMahon get out!

The pay-per-view opens with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon coming out and hyping the history of the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Title, and that tonight there will be only one Champion of Champions.

Michael Cole, Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler, and JBL are on commentary.

punk-shield

The Shield is required to tag in and out for this match, and Punk is able to outsmart them in the early going. It doesn’t take long for the numbers game to take over and the Shield goes to work and wears Punk down. Reigns takes Punk to the floor and goes for a Spear but Punk moves and Reigns crashes over the announce table! When Reigns makes it back to the ring Punk is all over him. Rollins gets the tag in and he swings the momentum back over to the Shield. Punk comes back and starts to build momentum but he can’t sustain it. The match breaks down and Punk hits Rollins with Go 2 Sleep! Ambrose comes in and Punk tries it on him but Ambrose slips out. Reigns comes in and tries a Spear but Punk moves and Reigns spears Ambrose! Punk throws Reigns to the floor and steals the pin!

WINNER – CM Punk

Backstage – Renee Young is with Divas Champion AJ Lee and her bodyguard Tamina Snuka. AJ talks trash about the fans, Total Divas, and her opponent tonight, Natalya. She promises to retain the title.

aj-natalya

AJ is accompanied by Tamina. Natalya dominates in the early going, sending AJ scurrying to the floor. Tamina distracts Natalya long enough for AJ to take advantage. AJ keeps Natalya on the mat for the most part and wears her down. Natalya avoids a charge in the corner and tries a bodyslam, which AJ counters to a guillotine choke. The challenger escapes from that and locks on the Sharpshooter. AJ counters out of that and Tamina gets on the apron to distract Natalya briefly. That gives AJ the chance to hook on the Black Widow. Natalya escapes out of that and hits a discuss lariat. She goes for the Sharpshooter again but AJ counters with an inside cradle to get the pin and retain the title.

WINNER, and STILL DIVAS CHAMPION – AJ Lee

The announce team mentions that Bruno Sammartino tweeted “good luck” to both John Cena and Randy Orton earlier today. This segues into a video package for tonight’s main event.

langston-sandow

Langston has been the Champion since 11.18.13, and this is his second defense. He dominates early with his power, but they take it to the floor and Sandow is able to take control. Back in the ring Sandow goes to work and tries to keep Langston on the mat. It doesn’t take long for the massive Langston to assert his power and reclaim control. He flattens Sandow with a splash to the back for a two-count. He goes for the Big Ending but Sandow slips out and hits the Edge-o-Matic for a two-count. Moments later Langston is able to connect with the Big Ending to get the pinfall.

WINNER, and STILL INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION – Big E Langston

Backstage – Randy Orton is getting ready for the main event when Mr. McMahon stops by and shakes his hand. They have a conversation but there must be something wrong with the audio because we can’t hear it.

Wing Stop is a sponsor tonight. I don’t have one of those near me.

The commentators talk about the times Houston hosted WrestleMania, and then put over Stone Cold Steve Austin’s tweet about the unification tonight. They throw it over to the preshow panel, which is just Mathews, Foley, and Booker now. They recap the altercation between The Miz and Kofi Kingston, and announce that they will square off later on in a No Disqualification match!

fatal 4 way

In another bonus match, Kofi Kingston is taking on The Miz in a No Disqualification Match. Kofi shows some fire in the early going and chases Miz to the floor. Miz cuts him off on a dive but Kofi will not be denied tonight. Kofi goes for Trouble in Paradise but misses and connects with the ring post. Back in the ring Miz focuses on Kofi’s injured leg. After several minutes of abuse Kofi makes a comeback and some jerks in the crowd are chanting “boring.” Miz goes for the Figure-Four but Kofi kicks him into the exposed turnbuckle pad that Miz himself had exposed. Kofi is able to hit Trouble in Paradise and finally earns a victory over his rival.

WINNER – Kofi Kingston

Tribute to the Troops airs on Saturday, December 28.

bryan-wyatt family

Bray Wyatt starts the match at ringside in the rocking chair. Erick Rowan starts the match with Bryan, and they go back and forth a bit. Harper tags in and the Wyatt Family takes control. Things look bleak for Bryan as the large bearded men dominate him with no mercy. Wyatt tries to offer Bryan a spot in the Family but Bryan wants nothing to do with that. Bryan continues to fight against the oods and even hits Harper with a belly-to-back superplex for a two-count. He sends both Harper and Rowan to the floor and almost pins Wyatt with a rollup. Bryan hits Wyatt with a missile dropkick and tries the Yes Lock but Wyatt avoids it. Wyatt is able to hit the Sister Abigail to get the pin.

WINNERS – The Wyatt Family

Please Don’t Try This At Home.

The talking heads at ringside put over a tweet from The Rock earlier. They also mention that Korn’s “Never Never” is the official theme song for TLC. Mathews, Booker, and Foley get a few last words in and we’re ready for the main event.

Cena-Orton

Cena has been the World Heavyweight Champion since 10.27.13, and this is his third defense. Orton has been the WWE Champion since 10.27.13, and this is his second defense. Cena controls the early part of the match and is the first one to use a ladder as a weapon. Orton fires back with a steel chair and lays waste to Cena. Out on the floor Orton continues the steel chair abuse. Cena fires back and sets up a table. He goes for a powerbomb but Orton slips out and throws Cena into the steps. Orton tries to climb up for the belts but Cena stops him. They continue to go back and forth, with neithe rman sustaining an advantage. Cena strikes big when Orton is on the apron, hitting him in the face with a ladder, causing Orton to fall backwards through a table! He goes up for the belts but Orton pushes the ladder over and flattens Cena with an RKO. Cena kicks it into another gear and clotheslines Orton to the floor. He hits Orton with the steel steps. Orton comes back by hitting Cena with the microphone. He starts clearing off the Spanish Announce Table but it backfires when Cena hits him with the Attitude Adjustment! Back in the ring Cena climbs up and gets his hands on the belts but Orton pushes the ladder over and Cena is hanging on to the belts. Orton cuts him down with a steel chair and cracks Cena with it several times. He then finds a pair of handcuffs, a nice callback to their match at Breaking Point. Cena is handcuffed to the ropes and has nowhere to go. Orton goes out and brings a tall ladder back to the ring. He decks Cena with it and then brings it into the ring to climb up. Cena actually takes apart the bottom turnbuckle and is able to climb up while still attached to the rope. He hits Orton with the turnbuckle and knocks him down, but is not able to grab the belts. Orton pulls Cena down and he lands on a table. He goes back up and pulls down both titles to become the Champion of Champions.

WINNER – Randy Orton

The new Champion celebrates with his belts while Cena tries to recover. Mr. McMahon, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon make their way out to congratulate the Champion.

I grew up and now I write for Inside Pulse. Oh, and one time I saw a blimp!
