Murtz On The Scene – The Voice Results Finale – Exclusive Red Carpet Video Interview With Will Champlin

Although Tessanne Chin was named the winner of The Voice, it can be argued that the real victor of NBC’s singing competition was Will Champlin.

The Los Angeles musician bounced around from Team Adam to Team Christina and finally found himself back with his original mentor, continuing to avoid elimination week after week. The singer seemed to finally found his niche after making it into the voting rounds as America’s votes pushed him all the way into Tuesday’s finale. While the judges could never seem to decide on Will, the voting public never really had a doubt.

On the season finale, Will took part in a “Bring Back” group performance, where he chose Cole Vosbury, Caroline Pennell, Jonny Gray and Austin Jenckes to join him for a cover of “Wagon Wheel.” It was interesting that he didn’t select any of his fellow Team Adam members to join him, but the performance was quite solid.

Will also got the chance to cover the potential song of the year when he joined Aloe Blacc for a rendition of “Wake Me Up.”

The night for the perennial underdog ended when Carson announced that he had finished in third place.

I had the chance to catch up with Will on the red carpet, immediately following the announcement of Tessanne as the winner. I asked him what he thought about his run on the show and what plans on doing next. It’s clear we also received the same memo about what to wear.
