Worlds’ Finest Annual #1 Spoilers: What’s Earth 2 Wonder Woman’s Legacy? Plus Huntress / Power Girl As Robin / Supergirl! (DC Comics New 52 In Review)

News, Spoilers

Worlds’ Finest Annual #1 features a tale on Earth 2 when its trinity of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman were alive, and in Superman’s case not evil as he is in the modern-day Earth 2. We get to see modern-day Huntress and Power Girl as their younger identities of Batman’s sidekick / daughter Robin and Superman’s partner / cousin Supergirl. This is a nice flashback considering what trouble Huntress is in currently with the DC Comics New 52 modern-day Batman.

Also this week we also had Earth 2 Annual #2 hit stands and it reveals the new Earth 2 Batman’s secret identity. More on that here.

Back to the Worlds’ Finest Annual…

SPOILERS follow for Worlds’ Finest Annual #1.

The free preview to the issue revealed the cover and stunning opening page of the issue.

I love the juxtaposing of Huntress and Power Girl and their younger Earth 2 personas. Plus, Earth 2 Wonder Woman vs. Earth 2 Supergirl flashback fight? Bring it on!

We learn through the issue why Wonder Woman is fighting the titular heroines; it looks like she wanted to discipline the rogue Amazon – Fury who is still causing all manner of havoc on modern-day Earth 2 – aligned with Darkseid’s Apokolips’ forces. That battle culminates with the revelation of Wonder Woman’s Earth 2 Legacy. A nice moment between Earth 2’s Batman Superman are sandwiched in the middle. Does Batman know Wonder Woman’s secret?

Fury is her daughter! She may or may not be named Donna Troy, but time will tell. And it looks Fury was corrupted well before the Earth 2 Wonder Woman’s death.
