The event is headlined by a five-round middleweight bout between former champions as former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida and former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Gegard Mousasi do battle. I’m Ryan Frederick and I’ll be handling the coverage of the event, which will see the main card airing on FOX Sports 1 and the preliminary card airing on UFC Fight Pass beginning at 7:30 PM eastern time.

Douglas Silva de Andrade vs. Zubaira Tukhugov

ROUND 1- Both men are making their UFC debuts. Andrade took this fight on short notice as an injury replacement for Thiago Tavares. Osiris de Mederios is the referee. They touch gloves to start. Andrade with a short leg kick as they feel each other out. Tukhugov with a body kick. Tukhugov with a spin kick to the body but Andrade lands a big leg kick. Andrade with another leg kick. Andrade with a glancing head kick. Tukhogov grabs a leg kick and knocks Andrade down but Andrade gets right back up. Andrade misses a leg kick. Tukhugov lands a spinning back fist but Andrade counters with a leg kick. Andrade just misses a body kick. Tukhugov with a leg kick and Andrade counters with a left hand. Andrade is cut open above his eye and bleeding from his nose. The referee calls for a timeout to have the cut checked on by the doctor. The fight goes on. Andrade with a short leg kick. Andrade misses a left hook and Tukhugov misses a spinning back fist. Tukhugov shoots in and scores the powerful double-leg takedown. The crowd boos as Tukhugov is in the guard and lands some heavy ground-and-pound. Andrade gets to his feet but is hurt from a combo from Tukhugov off the break. Tukhugov with a leg kick and the round ends. 10-9 Tukhugov.
ROUND 2- Tukhugov took the first round in the waning moments so it is up to Andrade to come back strong as his cut has stopped bleeding. Tukhugov just misses a big head kick. Andrade with the jab. Tukhugov with a kick to the body as Andrade was throwing a punch. Andrade with a leg kick and Tukhugov lands a spinning back kick to the body. Andrade misses a spin kick of his own. Tukhugov with an uppercut. Andrade with a leg kick and then lands a combo and a knee to the head of Tukhugov. Tukhugov counters with two combos. Tukhugov goes for the takedown but Andrade slips out from under and lands an inside leg kick. Andrade is starting to breath heavy and is holding his hands low. Tukhugov misses a spinning kick. Andrade with an inside leg kick. Andrade with a right hand as Tukhugov is looking to set up a spinning back fist. Tukhugov grabs Andrade from behind and is looking to drag the fight to the ground as Andrade gets right back to his feet and they break. Tukhugov with a body kick. Tukhugov with a right hand. Tukhugov lands a spinning fist and Andrade lands a left hand as well. Tukhugov just lands another spinning back fist. Andrade with a body punch and the round ends. 10-9 Tukhugov. 20-18 Tukhugov.
ROUND 3- We have Andrade needing to score a finish to win this fight. Tukhugov comes out with a solid combination. Tukhugov knocks Andrade off balance with a body kick but Andrade gets right back up. Andrade with a leg kick. Tukhugov with a series of left hooks backs Andrade against the cage. Andrade gets off and misses a spin kick to the body. Tukhugov with a body punch but Andrade counters back and they have a wild exchange on the feet that Andrade gets the best of. They circle back to the center and Tukhugov just lands a spin kick. Tukhugov with a big output of strikes and Andrade has seemed to depleted his gas tank. Andrade eats a series of right hands as Andrade misses a left hook. Tukhugov goes for the takedown but Andrade shows a nice sprawl and keeps it upright. Tukhugov ducks under a punch and grabs a body lock and gets a takedown but Andrade creates a scramble and gets to his feet. Andrade with a left hook. Both men trade punches. Andrade misses a body kick and a right hand as the fight eats. Close final round that we give to Tukhugov. 10-9 Tukhugov, 30-27 Tukhugov.

Ildemar Alcantara vs. Albert Tumenov

ROUND 1- Tumenov is making his UFC debut in this bout. Keith Peterson is the referee. They fire off quickly as Alcantara lands a knee to the body. Both men land kicks to the body. Tumenov with a right hand. Tumenov with a left hook and Alcantara can’t land a knee. Alcantara with a nice combo and lands a big right hand. Tumenov lands a left hand and knocks Alcantara down but he allows him back up. Alcantara with a big takedown and is in side control. Tumenov reverses and ends up in the guard of Alcantara. Tumenov is cut open but lands some elbows from inside the guard. Tumenov with another big elbow. Tumenov attacks the body and then the head. Tumenov with more big punches from the top and is aggressive from the top. Big ground-and-pound continues from Tumenov and he is applying excellent pressure. Tumenov with more punches from the top and goes for some hammerfists. More big punches from Tumenov as he is being patient with his attack. More punches from Tumenov but Alcantara is able to sweep to his feet. Tumenov is bleeding badly from his left eye. Alcanatara lands a left hand. Tumenov misses a right hand and Alcantara counters with a takedown and is inside the guard of Tumenov. Alcantara with a rubbing elbow from the top. Under 30 seconds to go. Tumenov looks to push Alcantara up and Alcantara lands a nice right hand that gets Tumenov but the round ends right then. 10-9 Tumenov.
ROUND 2- Alcantara with a knee to the body and they have a wild exchange against the fence. Tumenov lands a big right hand and Alcantara initiates a tie-up and is looking for the takedown against the fence. Alcantara has the body lock and drags the fight to the ground. Alcantara is in Tumenov’s guard. Alcantara moves into half-guard. Alcantara with some elbows from the half-guard. Tumenov is looking to create a scramble out from the bottom but Alcantara is landing a nice steady amount of ground-and-pound. Tumenov rolls and gives up his back and Alcantara gets the hooks in. Alcantara moves to the mount but Tumenov escapes to his feet. They clinch against the fence and Alcantara has the body lock. Alcantara with a knee to the body and then one to the legs. Alcantara looks for the takedown but it is defended. Alcantara with more knees but they are broken up by Keith Peterson. Tumenov with a high kick. Alcantara with a body kick but Tumenov grabs the leg for a moment before letting go. Alcantara with a short inside hook. Tumenov lands a right hand that stuns Alcantara. Alcantara misses a teet kick. Alcantara can’t land on a combination. Tumenov with an inside leg kick and a spinning back fist. Alcantara lands a nice jab. Tumenov with a big inside leg kick. Alcantara with a body kick but Tumenov counters with a right hand. Alcantara lands a solid combination. Tumenov with a nice right hand. Alcantara fires back and lands a jab. Tumenov with a leg kick. Tumenov with a right hand that backs Alcantara up towards the fence. Alcantara changes levels and goes for the takedown but it is defended by Tumenov. Tumenov with a right hand. ROUND 1- Both men are looking to bounce back from losses in their last bouts. Blanco had travel issues getting to this event. Mario Yamasaki is the referee. Blanco comes forward early and they clinch against the fence before breaking. Arantes with a right hand and they trade body punches. Blanco with a nice combo and he attacks the body with numerous punches and scores a takedown against the fence. Blanco with ground-and-pound from the half-guard. Arantes is looking for a reversal but Blanco has him planted down well. Blanco goes to his feet and Arantes escapes to his feet. Arantes with a jumping kick and lands on some punches. Arantes with a Superman punch. They trade punches. Arantes with a left hand and an inside leg kick. Arantes with another leg kick. Blanco with some body punches and Blanco hurts him with more against the fence. Arantes fires back against the fence and backs Blanco up and they get to the center of the Octagon. Arantes with a knee to the body. Arantes with a spinning kick. Arantes misses a leg kick. Blanco with a leg kick and Arantes drops Blanco with a right hand and swarms in. Arantes looks for a choke but Blanco escapes and Arantes is in side control and lands elbows. Arantes goes for an armbar but Blanco gets out and ends up on top. The round ends and it was a fun one. 10-9 Arantes.
ROUND 2- Arantes stole that first round late. Blanco with a leg kick to start. Blanco just misses a right hand as both are looking for openings. Blanco trips Arantes up with a leg kick and goes into the guard of Arantes. Blanco with some body punches inside the closed guard. Arantes goes for a triangle but Blanco picks him up and slams him to escape. Blanco is on his feet as Arantes is on his back but Yamasaki orders Arantes to his feet. They trade punches. Arantes goes for a takedown but Blanco has good takedown defense. Arantes with a knee in the clinch. They break and trade punches. Blanco lands a nice body combination. Arantes has a head kick checked. Arantes has a flying knee stopped by a right hand from Blanco. Blanco with a leg kick and Arantes counters with a right hand and head kick. Blanco with a nice combo to the body. They trade punches. Blanco with a left hook. Blanco scores a takedown in the center of the Octagon and is in the guard of Arantes. The crowd is booing the lack of action on the ground. Blanco with some short elbows from the top. Yamasaki is warning about a stand-up. Blanco with shoulder strikes but they are stood up. They both land punches. The round ends and another fun one. 10-9 Blanco, 19-19.
ROUND 3- This one is up for grabs at least on our scorecard. Blanco comes out with a combo and a body kick. Blanco with a body punch. Arantes lands a combo that stuns Blanco. Blanco goes for the takedown but Arantes sprawls and almost takes the back before they break. Arantes with a right hand that is partially blocked. Kick right to the cup of Arantes by Blanco and we have a break in the action. Yamasaki takes a point from Blanco so that makes things interesting now. Arantes lands a right hand as Blanco comes out aggressive. Blanco with a big body kick. Blanco looking for the takedown and gets it and he is in the guard. Arantes is looking for the armbar and the crowd responds well. Arantes bails on it and Blanco remains in the guard. Arantes is still looking for a submission but Blanco gets to his feet and Arantes looks for a takedown against the fence. Blanco with a body punch and Arantes gets a takedown. Blanco looks to wall walk. They get to the feet. Arantes looks to get this fight back down to the ground but Blanco is able to sprawl against the cage. Blanco looks for the neck but Arantes gets out. Blanco with body punches. They tie up against the fence and Arantes lands an elbow. Body punch from Arantes. They are broken up by Yamasaki. Blanco presses forward with a combination. Blanco with a leg kick. They battle against the fence and tie up. Arantes is looking for the takedown. They break and nothing happens as the fight ends. We have this round for Blanco but even due to the point deduction. This will be interesting. 9-9, 28-28.

ROUND 1- Alcantara looks to rebound from a loss to Urijah Faber while Reis looks for his second UFC win. Alcantara is the favorite. Osiris de Medeiros is the referee. They come out swinging early. Alcantara goes for a takedown but Reis sprawls and Alcantara looks for an armbar but ends up on top as they scramble on the ground. Reis spins and looks for the leg but Alcantara stays on top and lands some punches. Alcantara with more punches as he gets into half-guard. They get to their feet. Reis goes for the takedown but Alcantara ends on top but Reis sweeps to the top position and is in half-guard. Reis looks to transition to side control. They are stood up by the referee and that looked questionable. Alcantara lands some left hands and Reis presses forward and looks for a takedown against the fence. Reis lands a right hand as they break the clinch. Alcantara drops Reis with a left hand and lands some hammerfists but Reis gets to his feet. Alcantara with a knee to the body. Alcantara lands a combo and Reis backs up to escape. Alcantara tries a standing knee but Reis reverses into a takedown and lands from the top. They get up and Alcantara scores a takedown to end the round. Close round. 10-9 Alcantara.
ROUND 2- Reis misses a leg kick. Alcantara with a teet kick. Alcantara with a nice combo and drops Reis with a left hand and Alcantara looks for a finish. Alcantara lands a lot of punches but Reis recovers and sweeps. Alcantara looks for an armbar but Reis escapes and is into full mount after Alcantara lost position. Reis with some punches from the top and just misses an elbow. Reis with more punches from the top as Alcantara looks for an opening to escape. Reis looks to set up an arm triangle choke. Reis with more punches from the top. Alcantara uses the cage to reverse and he ends up on top. Alcantara with some elbows from the top and then some hammerfists. Alcantara with more punches from the top as Reis looks to sweep out from under the bottom. Alcantara with some body punches in the half-guard. Alcantara stands up and lands some left hands. Reis gets to his feet and gets a takedown against the fence. Alcantara is looking to wall walk. Reis with a left hand followed by another. Alcantara has Reis in his full guard. Reis with some left hands from the top. Reis with more ground-and-pound. They scramble as the round ends. Another close round but we see it for Alcantara due to almost finishing it. 10-9 Alcantara, 20-18 Alcantara.
ROUND 3- This fight could be up for grabs. The pace, especially from Alcantara, has slowed going into this final round. Reis looking to land the right hook. Alcantara lands a big left hand. Alcantara with a nice combo. Alcantara lands the left hand again as he avoids an attack from Reis. Reis misses a leg kick. Reis goes for a takedown against the fence but Alcantara has the underhook. Reis gets a brief takedown and they move against the fence. Reis has Alcantara on the bottom against the fence. Alcantara has the butterfly guard. Alcantara isn’t letting Reis pass the guard as they continue to battle against the fence. Reis with some punches from the top. Reis with body punches as he looks to transition. Alcantara isn’t doing much to escape from the bottom. Reis moves to half-guard and continues to land body punches. Alcantara gets to his feet and they tie up against the fence. Alcantara switches positions as they both have the body lock. Alcantara with a trip takedown and is on the top. Big punches from the top from Alcantara as he looks to finish strong. Alcantara with more big punches from the top and Reis survives. It may have been too late for Alcantara. They trade leg kicks to start the fight. Proctor with a solid combination. They tie up and Proctor has a guillotine locked in but Marcello gets out. Both men have body locks and looking for the advantage in taking this fight to the mat. Marcello looking for a single-leg but gets a body lock and takes this fight down. ROUND 3- They come out quickly and Oliveira drops Ogle with a right hand and pounces in for a choke. Ogle is on top but both get back to their feet. Ogle looking for the takedown but Oliveira has the neck. They go to the ground and Ogle is on top. Oliveira pushes Ogle off and they get to their feet. Ogle with a leg kick. They trade punches. ROUND 2- Musoke comes out with a front kick and they trade before a clinch. Musoke has the underhooks and is looking for a takedown from a body lock. He is battling for it against the fence but can’t fully extend the takedown. Musoke still has the body lock against the cage but Andrade reverses position. They break as Andrade looks for a trip. Andrade with a straight right hand to the body. Musoke with a left jab. Andrade goes for a takedown but Musoke grabs the neck. Musoke with a head kick and some right hands hurt Andrade. Musoke drops down for a takedown but Andrade has a good base but Musoke gets Andrade down to the ground. Musoke works inside the guard and is looking to posture up. Musoke stands up and lands a big right hand. Another big right hand from Musoke as he falls back into the guard of Andrade. Musoke with hammerfists from inside the guard. ROUND 3- Both men trade punches to start the final round. Musoke grabs a body lock against the fence but they break back to the center of the Octagon. They trade jabs. They tie up and Musoke has a body lock against the fence. Musoke grabs back control and lands some knees to the legs of Andrade. Musoke looks to get the hooks in on the back. Musoke pulls Andrade to the ground and takes the back and looks to get the hooks in. Musoke looks to get into position for a rear-naked choke. They continue to roll on the ground as Musoke still has the back mount. Andrade is blocking any submission attempts but he can’t get out of the back mount as Musoke is cruising towards taking this round. The crowd is beginning to boo the lack of action. Andrade with over the shoulder punches but Musoke is controlling the hips and back and not allowing any room for an escape. ROUND 1- Silva looks to get back into the win column against Sato, who is making his UFC debut as an injury replacement. Silva is a big favorite according to the betting odds. Mario Yamasaki is the referee for this bout. Silva with a body kick to start his attack. Sato grabs a leg and Silva is throwing a heel to the face of Sato. Sato still has the leg but Silva is pounding away at Sato with punches and this fight is over. Sato is out cold and the fight has been stopped. Quick TKO win for Silva!

Keith Peterson is the referee. Carmont with a front kick to start. Carmont misses a head kick. Carmont lands a left hook but Souza lands a spin kick. Souza with a right hand and grabs the back of Carmont and drags the fight to the ground. Souza has both hooks in. Souza looking for a choke and he is awesome on the ground. Souza with some left hands from the back. Souza looks to get the arm under the neck but can’t get an opening. Souza still has the back as Carmont tries to get back to his feet. Souza tries to get the choke in but Carmont is showing good defense. Both men landing punches from their positions. Souza gets the forearm underneath the neck but has to get the other arm free and he does. No he doesn’t and Carmont gets out. Both men with more punches from their current positions. ROUND 2- Carmont with a leg kick to start the second round. Carmont looks to establish the jab. Both men land left hands. Souza with a leg kick and he throws a big right hand and they tie up against the fence. They break and Carmont lands a power body kick. Carmont misses the jab. Carmont with a leg kick as he still looks to land the left hand. Souza lands a big flurry as Carmont circles. Souza with a spinning wheel kick. Carmont ducks a right hand and goes for a takedown and has Souza clinched against the fence but they break. Souza with a right hand. Carmont with a front kick. Carmont with a right hand and Souza slips but gets up. Souza with a right hand as he ducks a jab from Carmont. Souza looks like he is starting to tire just a bit. ROUND 3- This round could decide it. Carmont with a big leg kick. Carmont with a solid combination. Souza with a right hand to the body. Both duck under the others’ punches. Souza gets the takedown as he ducks under a right hand from Carmont and that is huge. Souza takes the back and is landing hammerfists. Souza has the hooks and is under the neck and pounding away. Souza is in a solid position looking to finish the fight with either punches or a submission. The crowd comes alive. Souza loses back control but still has top control and Carmont is trying to wall walk to his feet. Souza with punches from the side. Souza takes the back and has the hooks in but Carmont is landing over the shoulder punches. Souza with some punches as well. Carmont is trying to roll out but that is a chore in itself.
