DC Comics Announces More Than One “The New 52: Futures End” Spin-Off!

News, Top Story

DC Comics has announced the return of 3D covers for September 2014, that The New 52: Futures End would be key that month-long event, plus a third weekly mini-series to spin-off from that 3D month. Add to that the seeming Forever Evil #7 set-up of Futures End, and it sure looks like DC is doubling down on this.

Here’s what DC had to say:

Following the overwhelming success of 2013’s “Villains Month” 3-D motion covers, DC Comics is bringing the technology back this September! Spinning out of the events of the new weekly series THE NEW 52: FUTURES END, comic books will leap 5 years into the future! This fall expect the books to have even more depth and motion than before!

As part of DC’s charm offensive, its co-publishers also spoke to Newsarama about their plans. Not a lot was revealed, and the new weekly series remains a mystery, but we did get a look at a sample 3D cover from September (see right)! Plus it was revealed that this five year leap into the future is only a “possible” future.

Add to that the Top 10 time anomalies currently in the DC New 52, and you have an interesting year ahead in Futures End.
