My Thoughts: WWE WrestleMania XXX (Daniel Bryan, The Undertaker, Batista, Randy Orton)

1. That was a very good tag team match for the WrestleMania pre-show with the right team retaining the Tag Team Championships. Plus we finally got the long-awaited Cesaro babyface turn. And at WrestleMania on top of it. They must have big plans for the Swiss Superman to go ahead with this at WrestleMania and not Raw.

2. I’ll admit I wasn’t sold on Triple H versus Daniel Bryan when it was announced and they proved me wrong. Everything played out just as it should have, Bryan surviving numerous submission attempts, Pedigrees and got the clean pin over HHH. The post match beat-down was just enough to put SOME doubt in people’s minds but not enough to totally discount him. Think of the Bret Hart/Owen Hart storyline that played out at Royal Rumble 1994. Bret hurt his leg in a Tag Team Championship match earlier (with help from a kick from Owen) and his participation in the Rumble was questionable. He ended up entering the Rumble and winning (well, co-winning), earning a shot at the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 10. Daniel Bryan and Bret Hart in-ring characters are similar in so many ways and this is a story that perfectly fits the “underdog” persona. I’m excited to see how the main event plays out.

3. Wait, since when was Cesaro entered into the Andre The Giant Battle Royal?! I guess he was one of those three who wasn’t included in the 27 listed Superstars. As soon as I saw Cesaro in the ring, he was instantly the favorite. And he proved it by EASILY lifting Big Show over his head and tossing him over the top rope. I have never seen anyone lift the Big Show up the easily, let alone over their head and the top rope. Awesome moment and really made Cesaro a major story of the night.

4. Has anyone ever gotten a bigger WrestleMania debut entrance than Bray Wyatt is right now? Incredible and spot on. That match was the strangest match I’ve seen in years. Sure some people might consider it slow but it was all storytelling and it was storytelling at it’s best. While I don’t agree with Wyatt losing, it was the right way to end the story with the forever good guy finally concurring his demons and coming out stronger.

5. What the hell did I just witness? Out of all the people in the world, Brock Lesnar is the one to end “The Streak”? He’s already disliked by most wrestling fans and not in a good way. The only thing I can think of is that The Undertaker doesn’t have another match left in him and this was the end. It sure sounded like that was the case with how the announcers reacted as Undertaker exited the arena. But Brock Lesnar? I can’t wait to see the backlash from this…

6. Brilliant move having AJ Lee MAKE Naomi, in the most literal sense, tap. There’s a reason why AJ Lee is still the best Diva in the business today.

7. I know it was too much to ask for a straight up triple threat match, especially considering the story involved. I would still love to see these three men in a more typical triple threat match but it was everything it needed to be & more. “The impossible dream has become a reality!” is the new “The boyhood dream has come true!” and it couldn’t have happened to a better guy than Bryan. Just think, this story began around SummerSlam of last year and finally culminated at WrestleMania. It’s long-term booking/storytelling and I think the final chapter really lived up to all the expectations that the fans had. Finally we get a WrestleMania that truly is the finale of numerous storylines (EVEN “THE STREAK”!), as it should be. I thought this was a great WrestleMania and one that had moments that we will be reliving for years.
