The Following is the most exciting drama currently on television.
The slick series which follows Ryan Hardy’s pursuit of serial killer Joe Carroll has only gotten better in its sophomore run and while some questioned what the writers would do after their lead villain presumably died in the first season finale, the second season has added new depth to the show and even more killers for Hardy to chase.
One of the strongest aspects of The Following is its phenomenal supporting cast led by Valorie Curry’s Emma Hill. Emma was Carroll’s partner-in-crime during the first season of the program and has slowly stepped into her own in the second season. While Carroll returned to cause even more carnage this time around, it’s clear that Emma is now his equal instead of just another one of his following minions.
On June 6 2013, I had the chance to catch up with Curry at the CTV Upfront at the Sony Centre For The Performing Arts. Topics discussed include Emma developing into the lead villain on The Following’s second season, the risqué nature of the series of and what dream storyline she would write for Emma. She also compliments me on my shoes.
