DVD Review: Dora the Explorer: Dora in Wonderland

DVD Reviews, Reviews

Alice in Wonderland has been the perfect fantasy episode for established series. The producers can turn the cast members into the various characters in Lewis Carroll’s fantasy book. The most wonderful thing is that it’s public domain so there’s no need for permissions to bring the Mad Hatter to any productions. The people behind Dora the Explorer: Dora in Wonderland had a playful time adapting the classic children’s story to what has turned into a classic children’s show. This is a double length episode. There’s also the episode “Book Explorers.” This time Dora has to help out Peter Pan, Dorothy, and Little Red Riding Hood. My daughter ate it up. Here’s her take on the DVD:

The video is 1.78:1 anamorphic. The transfers bring out the sewing charms of the show. The audio is Dolby Digital Stereo. The levels are fine. The episodes are Closed Captioned.

Dora Paper Doll lets your kid dress her up for the fantasy fun.

Dora the Explorer: Dora in Wonderland transports the usual Dora into the world of Alice in Wonderland. The double length special moves as fast as a half hour episode.

Nickelodeon and Paramount present Dora the Explorer: Dora in Wonderland. Starring: Dora the Explorer. Rated: G. Boxset Contents. 4 Episodes on 1 DVD. Released: March 4, 2014.
