Timed in accordance with the arrival of Godzilla in theaters, Paramount, Warner Bros. and Legendary have unveiled the first trailer to Christopher Nolan’s much anticipated Interstellar.
One of the knocks against Nolan is that his feature films tend to lack emotional resonance. Granted this is only a two-minute trailer, but it suggests that he may have indeed cracked the code and found a way to have a story that is emotionally rich.
In the future, governments and economies across the globe have collapsed, food is scarce, NASA is no more, and the 20th Century is to blame. A mysterious rip in spacetime opens and it’s up to whatever is left of NASA to explore and offer up hope for mankind.
Interstellar is co-written and directed by Christopher Nolan and this is first feature post The Dark Knight trilogy. Matthew McConaughey, coming off his Oscar win for Dallas Buyers Club, stars along with Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, and Bill Irwin.
The film will blast off into theaters on November 7th, 2014.
