Box Art Sneaks Out For WKRP In Cincinnati – The Complete Series

Disc Announcements

Is it really going to happen? A few months ago word got out that Shout! Factory was looking to release WKRP in Cincinnati – The Complete Series. The big hurdle is music rights. When Fox released the first season back in 2007, there were major chunks of the show missing. The show about a feisty radio station had the DJs play hot tunes. Sadly back in 1978, nobody thought of securing rights to release the songs on home video. Because the way the audio was mixed, there’s no easy way to even replace the songs with less expensive pieces of music. Thus the episodes were butchered. There are quite a few skeptical souls that Shout! will pull off the music miracle. But they figured out how to bring Freaks and Geeks to DVD. As a sign that progress might be getting made, here’s the projected box art for WKRP in Cincinnati – The Complete Series. Shout! Factory doesn’t have a hint of a release date. Stay tuned for more WKRP news.
