While it isn’t clear whether or not Andre Galvao will fight Chael Sonnen on the Metamoris 4 card next Saturday, what is confirmed is that Galvao will be on the mat.
Chael Sonnen is waiting to settle on terms with the Nevada Athletic Commission as a result of his drug suspension. With his participation in the grappling match up in the air, Galvao, a two-time ADCC winner and multiple-time jiu-jitsu world champion has prepared for anyone who is put in front of him.
“I will be there, but I don’t know if Sonnen will fight,” Galvao told MMAFighting.com on Wednesday. “I’m not absolutely sure yet.”
Sonnen’s lawyers are continue to work on getting their client cleared. The NAC is expected to make an announcement on the matter Wednesday.
Metamoris 4 takes place Aug. 9 at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, and the complete card can be seen below.
