Glee Spoilers: Show To Add 5 New Characters For Final Season Including New Twin Cheerios, Warblers Reject, & Football Meathead With A Twist

Spoilers

McKinley High will look very different when it returns to FOX in the mid-season.

TVLine reports that the show will feature five new characters and while the actors who will fill out each role are still unknown, here’s what we know about the roles themselves.

RODERICK: A chubby and shy guy with a buttery smooth voice, his looks don’t match his voice. Roderick is described as “a true goober” and will serve as the show’s new underdog.

SPENCER: A new football meathead with an incredible voice who also happens to be gay. In the casting sheet, he has been described as being “post-Glee gay” meaning that unlike the show’s first few seasons, no one on the team will mess with him about his sexuality because “he will kick their asses if they do.”

JANE: Righteous, ambitious and unconventionally pretty, she’s funny because she doesn’t have much of a sense of humor. She wanted to be a Warbler but because it is an all-boy group, she decides to join the New Directions instead.

MASON AND MADISON: Male and female twin Cheerios. They’re super-bubbly and strange. Mason gives off a gay vibe, even though he isn’t.

TVLine talked to the show’s co-creator, Ryan Murphy, a couple of months ago and he said that the show will go back to its roots in its final season.

“We’re working on the last season now, and it really feels like it’s getting back to its roots, which I love,” he shared. “I’m sort of reinvigorated about it. It’s getting back to what I was initially interested in with the show, which was arts in school. The last season is really about the importance of arts education in our high schools… I think people will like it.”
