Mark-Paul Gosselaar Rips Dustin Diamond, Isn’t Keen On Idea Of Saved By The Bell Tell-All

Maybe Zach and Screech were never really friends.

According to TVGuide, Mark-Paul Gosselaar doesn’t agree with his Saved by the Bell co-star Dustin Diamond’s account of the teen drama being a big drug-fueled orgy behind the scenes.

“Everything I’ve heard about his book is that it’s very negative, and I don’t remember those things,” Gosselaar told HuffPost Live this week. “My experience on the show was very positive.”

Diamond’s book, Behind The Bell is the basis for Lifetime’s upcoming movie The Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story. Gosselaar doesn’t speak about the show often which always makes his thoughts on the subject quite poignant.

“I don’t mind talking about it, I just don’t really remember that time,” he said. “But also, everything I do remember was extremely positive.”

Gosselaar appeared on HuffPost Live with his Franklin & Bash co-star Breckin Meyer, who had no qualms about blasting Diamond.

“This guy’s such a di–,” Meyer said. “I don’t know Dustin at all, but … the Dustin Diamond thing is just so silly. It’s just so negative and it always bums me out.”
