Big Brother 16 News: Guy Who Invented Text-Messaging Voting Suing Show For Using His System When Asking Fans To Vote For Team America Tasks

In the midst of the “RenomRule” scandal, here’s some more breaking Big Brother news.

According to TMZ, Edwin Lyda claims he is solely responsbile for the invention of text message voting and says he holds the necessary patents to that system. He claims CBS stole his voting system and uses it each week on Big Brother 16.

On the show, viewers vote in various ways — by telephone, online, with a phone app or text messaging. The votes haven’t been used to determine evictions (yet) and are primarily used to select Have-Not food items and Team America tasks.

Lyda says his system for text voting is one of its primary assets and is now suing for his slice of the proverbial pie.
