With Meredith’s half-sister being introduced in the season finale, many expected Kate Burton to be featured heavily on the upcoming season of Grey’s Anatomy. They were right.
TVLine caught up with Kate Burton who plays Ellis Grey on the show at the Creative Arts Emmys over the weekend and asked her about her increased role on the series this season.
Burton confirmed that Ellis would only be seen in flashbacks and that these flashbacks would feature Richard and a younger version of their child, Maggie.
“I am excited to see how the whole thing plays out,” Burton added, “because James [Pickens Jr.] and I never really explored [the Ellis-Richard] relationship.”
