Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight Teaser Leaked Online

When the original Sin City came out in theaters nine years ago, Quentin Tarantino did a special directing appearance for one segment. Instead of doing a similar stint on the long-delayed sequel (Sin City: A Dame to Kill For), the Academy Award-winning filmmaker used the film’s release as a platform to debut the first teaser to his next film, The Hateful Eight.

Thought to appear only in theaters, this teaser has made its way online in “bootleg” form via YouTube.

With production about to commence, the teaser contains no footage, just animated title cards to give us the names and designated titles/nicknames of the eight primary characters. Highlighted by snippets from the music score from Western Gunmen of Rio Grande (as /Film was quick to point out) and Iggy and the Stooges’ “Gimme Danger,” we get a minute’s worth of blood-streaked animation that will surely whet the appetites of Tarantino fans anxious to see what he has in store for them in 2015.

Tarantino has stated publicly that the film’s ending will be altered after the script leaked back in January. This script leak was later followed with a live reading of the screenplay with Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, Walton Goggins, Tim Roth, Amber Tamblyn, Zoë Bell, and James Remar.

Expect to see The Hateful Eight in glorious 70mm Super CinemaScope in fall 2015.
