Entertainment Weekly reports that Kristin Bauer van Straten is set to reprise her role as Maleficent during the back half of Season 4.
Maleficent will return after the Frozen-themed storyline is complete.
A month before Once Upon a Time Season 4 even begins, we may have an idea of who the Big Bad for Season 4B, which starts after the winter hiatus, will be.
Bauer van Straten first played the role in the second episode of the series where she was imprisoned in dragon form by Regina and tucked away in a cave beneath the Storybrooke library. She was eventually “slayed” by Emma in the Season 1 finale.
