News, Top Story

Most boxers don’t want their sparring sessions shown to the public so that their game plans are not revealed publicly.

In that regard, Marcos Maidana is an exception to the rule.

Showtime’s “All Access” cameras caught Marcos Maidana and trainer Robert Garcia working on new adjustments Maidana plans to use when he rematches with Floyd Mayweather on Sept. 13 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas for the WBC welterweight and super welterweight titles.

One scene displays Garcia showing Maidana how to get get low to fake Mayweather into thinking he will throw to the body only to be surprised with an upper cut.

The footage is part of a Showtime special series called All Access: Mayweather-Maidana II” which debuts this Saturday at 9:30 p.m.

The fact that Garcia is willing to air Maidana’s strategy is suspect as best as it is more than likely he is using the airing of the footage to show Mayweather and his team plans that his fighter won’t use.
