It’s kind of strange to watch the cast of My Little Pony dress up for Halloween seeing how many kids want to dress up as the various ponies for trick or treating. The young ones want hooves, manes and cutie marks to flaunt as they crisscross neighborhoods in search of candy. What parent can resist the charms of Pinky Pie, Rarity, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow dash knocking at the door? Isn’t Applejack the perfect outfit to wear when bobbing for apples? My Little Pony – Friendship Is Magic: Spooktacular Pony Tales contains six episodes from the first four seasons that will add a bit of horse fun to a kid’s Halloween viewing.
“Boast Busters” marks the arrival of Trixie. She wants to prove she has more magic than Twilight Sparkle, but they are all put to a test when a bear arrives in Ponyville. “Stare Master” threatens the ponies and the Cutie Mark Crusaders when a cockatrice arrives. Will they all be turned into stone ponies? This should lead to an Asbury Park reference. “Luna Eclipsed” takes us to Nightmare Night which is the pony version of Halloween. The ponies fear the return of Nightmare Moon. “Sleepless in Ponyville” features spooky stories being told during a camping trip. “Castle Mane-ia” features a haunting encounter with the Pony of Shadows. “Bats” infest the apple orchard. This gets a little scary for Applejack and her family since they are vampire bats.
