How to get away with murder?
That’s the question that Shonda Rhimes’ latest foray in primetime attempts to answer every Thursday on CTV and ABC.
The legal drama follows the personal and professional life of Annalise Keating (Viola Davis), a criminal law professor at Middleton University. Also a practicing defense attorney, Annalise selects a group of her best students to also work at her firm. Every episode sees the students work alongside Annalise to come up with a defense for her clients.
While the series sandwiches perfectly between Rhimes’ other hits, Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal, it is a completely different show. While the show highlights Viola Davis, it truly encapsulates the idea of an ensemble cast and the chemistry between them.
Over the summer, I had the chance to catch up with Matt McGorry who plays Asher on the series. Best known for his work on Orange Is The New Black, McGorry talks about how different his new role is. We also chatted about the pressures that come with finding success on one show and carrying it over to a new project.
