Anderson Silva Changes Mind, Says He Is Open To Fighting Chris Weidman For The Third Time

News, Top Story

Apparently, Anderson Silva has changed his mind.

A few months ago, the former middleweight champion said that he had no interest in facing Chris Weidman again after two straight losses to the new title-holder. Now, it appears Spider Silva has had a change of heart.

“I think about fighting for the title again, of course,” Silva said in an interview to his manager Jorge Guimaraes on Passando a Guarda. “I have seven fights left in my contract and, if I have a chance to fight for the title again, I will fight.

Silva said that he will finish the rest of the fights that remain on his contact.

“I will fight the fights I have left in my contract and, if I earn a chance to fight for the title one day, against (Weidman) or not – not being a friend or a training partner, I will be happy,” Silva said. “Every UFC fan will like it.”
