Dana White Guarantees Rory MacDonald A Title Shot In Canada

News

Not only has Rory MacDonald earned himself a title shot, but with the fighter’s recent knockout win over Tarec Saffiedine, the Canadian has earned the right to fight for the title on home soil.

That’s according to UFC President Dana White who confirmed the news to the Canadian Press.

“[The title fight will] absolutely, positively, without a doubt, be in Canada,” White told the Canadian Press. “He’s next in line and that fight will be in Canada.”

Prior to his win over Saffiedine, MacDonald boasts wins over both Demian Maia and Tyron Woodley.

“It’s pretty impossible to deny Rory that, whoever comes out of that Hendricks-Lawler fight, he’s the next guy in line,” White added. “I have a lot of respect for Saffiedine,” White said. “That’s guy’s tough to deal with. Rory just absolutely made him look like he didn’t belong there. He actually treated him like No. 9.”
