Donald Cerrone To Face Myles Jury In UFC 182 Co-Main Event

News

The UFC has shuffled the deck for a few of its upcoming PPV events.

The long-rumored match between lightweights Donald Cerrone and Myles Jury is now confirmed and while it was expected to initially take place on January 18th, the UFC has confirmed that the fight will now be the co-main event of UFC 182: Jones vs. Cormier on January 3.

There is little doubt that the winner of the match will receive a title shot as the two 155-pound contenders have basically run through the division.

Cerrone has won five straight bouts overall, his most impressive coming against former Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez at UFC 178 in September. It will be the fifth UFC fight for Cerrone inside of a year. During his streak, Cerrone has finished four of the five opponents he’s faced, including Jim Miller.

Myles Jury secured a TKO victory over Takanori Gomi at UFC Fight Night 52 in Japan, and is now a perfect 6-0 in the UFC. Jury also holds a win over Diego Sanchez via unanimous decision at UFC 171.
