The show’s Christmas episode features the pair caught under the mistletoe.
The news was confirmed by Julie Plec in an interview with E! Online.
“There may be some hanging mistletoe in Damon and Elena’s future,” Julie Plec said. “Whether or not they kiss underneath it remains to be seen.”
