Frankie Edgar Tells UFC He Wants Jose Aldo In April, Asks For Title Shot In Front Of Home Crowd At UFC Fight Night

News

While we didn’t hear much from Frankie Edgar prior to his win over Cub Swanson at UFC Fight Night 57, it appears that he now has a lot to say.

After his win, Edgar said that he felt like he should be the next one to fight for the title.

“It should be me, based on my performance, based on what I’ve done in my career; it should be me,” Edgar told MMAjunkie after his FOX Sports 1-televised win at Austin, Texas’ Frank Erwin Center. “I’m here to stay. I’m coming. I’m not going to be an easy fight for anybody, I guarantee that.”

Now, Edgar has even presented his ideal date for the match.

The former lightweight champion wants to meet Aldo in the headliner of the recently announced UFC on FOX 15 event, which takes place April 18 at Newark, N.J.’s Prudential Center.

He made the request via Twitter.
