Rory MacDonald Sets Record Straight, Says He Would Never Fight GSP And ‘Stab Him In The Back’

Many in the MMA community have wondered if a welterweight mentor and his protege would ever step into the Octagon against each other.

While neither has ever completely rejected the idea, MacDonald recently went on the record and told Joe Rogan that he would never entertain the thought of fighting Georges St-Pierre.

“A lot of people now are asking me to fight him, this and that,” MacDonald said. “They don’t see the things that I got to see, that I appreciate. Not only as a martial artist, but for myself. I learned so much from him and I gained a lot from his kindness and what he gave to me. I’m not going to forget that and stab him in the back.”

As MacDonald has been promised the next title shot against the winner of Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler, Rogan asked him what GSP would do if he was holding the belt.

“I think he’d just do superfights,” said MacDonald of St-Pierre. “I’m pretty sure. Almost 100 percent sure.”
