Vince McMahon Comments On CM Punk, Feels Punk Will Regret Some Comments Someday

News

Vince McMahon appeared on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s podcast live on the WWE Network after WWE Monday Night Raw

Among many topics, Austin had Vince address CM Punk. For the most part, Vince stayed calm and took the high road. He claimed to not have heard the Art of Wrestling podcast where Punk told his story, but did say he heard it was “filled with expletives”, which Austin later referenced in jest as well.

McMahon claimed that the legal and talent relations departments were not in sync and the fact that Punk’s termination papers appeared on his wedding day was mis-communication and not spiteful.

Vince said that he prefers not to air dirty laundry in public, and didn’t address any of the other points Punk brought up. He did say that he feels Punk will look back and probably regret saying some of the things he said. McMahon also said that he hopes he reconciles with Punk down the line and return to WWE. At least publicly, Vince appears open to having Punk back in WWE someday.

Later in the podcast, Vince admitted that having a strong mediator like Jim Ross to work as a go-between with Punk might have saved the relationship.

Overall not much news, Vince did little to stoke the flames and almost treated Punk like a petulant child that acted out and didn’t deserve his time and attention.
