The Rock Contacted CM Punk On Thanksgiving About Podcast

News

During his first podcast with Colt Cabana on the Art of Wrestling, CM Punk mentioned his matches against The Rock and the eventual Rock/Cena match at Wrestlemania 29.

In various stories, Punk mentioned the Rock, including how he had to turn heel to have matches with the Rock, which cost him merchandise sales. Punk also had the idea of inserting himself into the Rock/Cena rematch as a three way match for the WWE title, an idea that was ultimately rejected.

CM Punk returned to the “Art of Wrestling” podcast hosted by his friend Colt Cabana, and spent over an hour responding to the overwhelming feedback he received from the Thanksgiving podcast.

On the second podcast with Colt Cabana, Punk recounted a story of how The Rock texted him on Thanksgiving about his podcast!

Punk:
I understand fan’s passion. You know, it was Thanksgiving – I’m hanging out with the sisters, I’m eating turkey, and at the end of the night, I grab my phone and Rock texted me. He’s like, ‘Just opened up my Twitter, and all your fans are mad at me. What the f— happened?’ I text back, ‘Oh, I did this podcast, explained why I left,’ and I was like, ‘I don’t think I said negative about you. But, I probably discussed working with you and trying to remain working with you so I could get a WrestleMania main event out of it.’ I just talked about that: ‘People are mad that I dropped the title to you, but I didn’t say anything negative about you.’ And he was super cool about it.
